Happy Friday!

I hope that everyone had a good week and is looking forward to the weekend. I know that I am. I will be looking at fencing tomorrow and hopefully getting it put up tomorrow too. I am also working on a special project and hope to have that finished by Sunday evening. I will post it as soon as it is completed.

Here is a birthday card I made for my boss. I used a fairy because she collects them.
I didn't start off with anything specific in mind other than to use the fairy stamp that I had. I auditioned several different papers until I decided upon the MB Provence and then I stamped the fairy with VM Wheat and heat embossed with pearl embossing powder. I then used Twinkling H2Os to paint her. Then I used some VM Pretty Petunia to darken the edges and some VM Thatched Straw on the inner edges of the Pretty Petunia to lighten it up just a touch. I cut my other two pieces of paper and inked the edges with VM Jumbo Java then put a couple of spots of double sided adhesive so the layers would stay together and I sewed around the edges. I then mounted the three sewn together layers to the base card. I added a touch of glitter to the center of the little flowers with the copic spica glitter pen.

Stamp: Studio G
Ink: Versamagic Wheat, Versamagic Jumbo Java, Versamagic Pretty Petunia, Versamagic Thatched Straw
Paper: Memory Box Provence, Bazzill and DCWV
Accessories: sewing machine, rotary cutter and mat, pearl embossing powder, twinkling H2Os,
copic spica clear glitter pen, heat gun
Finished card is 5.5 x 5.5

I hope that the photo isn't too dark. It's difficult for me to tell until I see my posts on a different computer as mine has a fairly bright screen.

Wishing everyone a beautiful weekend!

Life with Lily

Life with Lily is going well. She's a really sweet dog. She is very interested in our two cats but Ginger the "Queen Bee" of our house isn't at all interested in Lily. Eva on the other hand, plays with Lily. They're both about the same age, a little over a year old. The biggest problem is that Lily doesn't realize how big or strong she is. We hear little Eva screaming out quite often because Lily is stepping on her tail or is nosing her too roughly.

Having Lily is good for me since I need to take her on a walk every evening. We walk anywhere from a mile to three along a nice paved path. Lily is a pretty good walker. She heals fairly well but most of the time she likes to be out in front of me. Every once in a while she starts jumping through the tall grass/bushes. She is very interested in all things that fly....bees, moths, butterflies, dragonflies...etc. While out on our walk the other night we happened upon a young little fox (on the other side of the fence) having an evening snack. Sorry to say I didn't have my camera with me. I must remember to bring it with me on our walks!

Most of our backyard is fenced in, except for a small hill/ridge between us and our neighbors that is covered with trees, wild rose bushes, raspberries, and some other shrubbery. That will change this weekend when I put up some sort of wire fencing. Then she will have free reign (supervised) of the backyard and will be able to jump and gallop (yes she gallops) around.

I hope that your week is going well!

Alaskan Father's Day Card

Hello! It's Wednesday evening and the start of a long weekend for me. I'm fortunate that I have a 4 day weekend plus I'm taking the next week off too. My best friend is coming up from the lower-48 for a week-long visit tomorrow. I'm so excited! We're planning on doing a lot of driving and sight-seeing. We only have 2 for sure things that we're planning on and they are a trip to the stamp store out in Palmer called Stamp Cache (will let you know how it is) and a halibut charter. Can't wait!

Sorry to ramble on is the Father's Day card that I made for my Dad. I stamped the image on neutral tan cardstock with Timber Brown Stazon, and used Prisma colored pencils and gamsol to color it.

Stamp: from Peddlerboss
Ink: Stazon Timber Brown
Paper: Paper Company Neutral Tan; Color Sense System double-sided cardstock Zucchini/Spruce; Paper Pizazz "flannel", Bazzill Mocha Divine
Accessories: scissors, dimensionals to pop up the image
